Henderson Hall
The Henderson Hall is in a prime location in the village High Street. The hall was left in trust by the Henderson family to be used for the benefit of local residents. The Parish Council now manages the hall.
When you hire the Henderson Hall for your function you get the building exclusively. This means that you will only see your guests and our staff during your event. No other functions are taken at the same time. Whether your function is for a small number or to capacity the Henderson Hall can be your perfect venue.
The hall is ideal for the performing arts. We regularly host amateur dramatic, musical and operatic performances. It is equipped with a purpose built stage, curtains, blinds, stage lighting and facilities for changing and rigging to each individual performance requirements. Seating can be arranged in theatre style for 120.
Recent refurbishment includes the rebuilding, to a high standard, of the toilets at the back and front of house and the installation of blackout blinds to help create an ideal performance atmosphere. The refurbishment of the toilets was supported by a grant from Three Rivers
District Council.
The hall is fully DDA compliant with a level entrance. There is a lockable secure box office at the front entrance to the hall, where you can accept ticket money on performance nights.
Henderson Hall though is not just for the performing arts. It is used regularly by local societies and organisations for all kinds of exhibitions, displays and shows, including horticultural shows and arts festivals. A local fellowship group hosts a regular coffee morning, which is very well attended by local residents.
A national supermarket chain recently hired the hall for staff training sessions, scheduled throughout the day and evening.
We also host weddings, christenings, celebrations of life, birthday and anniversary celebrations. At Christmas the building is tastefully decorated to complement seasonal celebrations.
We run a fully equipped and staffed bar to cater for the largest of parties. We have a wide range of drinks available and subject to prior agreement could stock items to suit your individual requirements.
You are free to arrange you own catering, or we can recommend caters that use the Henderson Hall regularly. The hall has a kitchen which is equipped to commercial standards.
